Of course! Once they finally let you out, you wanted to get away from all that!

I usually only button or zip them when I'm walking in the wind or when it's very cold. When I'm sitting or standing, I leave them open.

Plus-sized and pear-shaped here...I usually leave them open, it's just a more flattering look for me.

1) button/zip them up
2) partially button/zip them up
3) leave them unbuttoned/unzipped
And can you tell us why this is your preference?
I have no preference. It depends on everything about the particular cardigan, outfit, and what I'm wearing underneath it (if anything) at the time. I couldn't possibly give a single answer to this.
Same here.

In early spring when it's cooler, I wear buttoned up cartigans. I like that the arms are softer than jackets as well as pretty patterns. If I need to be warmer, I'll add a tank and a scarf.
I wear jackets more in the fall and winter. I am not a fan of a buttoned up blazer, it looks too stiff. I do have some knit blazers, but I often forget to wear them. I always wear a blazer with a collared shirt like R Lauren's.
