When did curvy become a euphimism for plus sized?

I think it's silly. Curvy, or hourglass, comes in every weight class...

I have been wondering the same thing!
Plus size women Aren't necessarily all curvy, same with Misses sizes. The figure type doesn't change, it's just either smaller or larger

Everything that used to be okay to say is suddenly now politically incorrect.

I don't think it's silly, per se. But, curvy is just another word used to describe a full-figured woman. Just as zaftigue, rubenesque and plus size can also be used to describe a woman.

Re: When did curvy become a euphimism for plus sized?

Some women might be offended by the term "plus size."

Curvy does not really work either, as others have pointed out.

Carolyn had mentioned "extended sizing" this morning.  But sizing could be extended both ways.  Anyone need a XXXS?

Maybe someone on these boards can come up with a better term for the plus sizes.

I think it's a nice, easy way to describe bigger gals when they are selling fashion. Curvy just rolls off the tongue and has a nice ring to it. It's just like describing men as big and tall today, I doubt most young people even know what portly is. LOL

I think it is just a kind word for over weight. We need to stop putting labels on people period.

Silly?  How about minus size for petites?  Average for "missy" (which is silly), or anything else?  Doesn't plus or minus sound pretty bad when you put it that way?

So what would you suggest? Larger, even larger, small, less than, more than?????  I don't know where you go with this.
