Fringed hem dress too casual,IMHO. The portrait collar dress is much more, appropriate for the occasion and time,of day for the reception.

I ❤️ that Jessica Howard dress in eggplant!

Thank you. I do better in portrait necklines. They are hard to find. I have two from Kay Unger that are getting some age on them and need to be sent to a new home. I like A-lines and large skirts (makes me look as if I have hips).

It's okay. I am weak myself. I will probably end up finding a reason to keep both of them. I really need new stuff. I have let my hair grow out for the first time since I was 13 years old and it's a steel gray color (I had been a champagne blond for many years). It actualy makes my blue eyes look less pale. Lots of people say when they have chemo and their hair grows back in, it is a different color. Mine is. I was a natural blond and at 13, I started getting dishwater looking. My new hair looks as if I might have had very dark hair, which I never did.

We had a wedding similar to yours last year. I wore a short sleeveless navy sheath dress with a light peach diagonal design above the waist, with strappy high black sandals. Most of the women there wore similar outfits. A few had long dresses.
You might want to call someone in your husband's family for more specific advice. Whatever you wear, I'm sure you'll be beautiful! Have fun!

Thank you kindly for all your support and assistance. Oh, yes. If I need a home when all these new clothes I have been buying should arrive, can I count on you? Yes. I was afraid not.

It's perfectly allright to wear dark colors to a wedding. Some wedding gowns are in black!
Love your dress! Great choice!

Yes - I would dress it up a bit - perhaps something in a floral. I don't know, but it is a summer wedding... Or, if you are not into floral prints - How about a solid fushia or turquoise. Also, a open weave shrug in a coordinating color just in case it is needed.
Nude open toe pumps or strappy heeled sandals. And, I would probably add a splash of color with my handbag . Also - black shoes would work too - say if you got a lovely floral print with black in it. Or, with the turquoise - black and turquoise is pretty much timeless.
Happy shopping - you will look fabulous!!
