From Denim & Co. to Women With Control, Susan Graver, Issac.....everyone seems to be making tons of pull-on pants. They must be cheaper to make then a real waistband with a zip front. I prefer "real" jeans with a zipper, and pants that are tailored with a set in waist band......for these prices.

I love the waistband on pull up jeans/pants. To each their own. They have both choices available, so pick the one you like. No Biggie!!!

They are cheaper to make and that is the bottom line

I prefer no zipper, snap or button. I like the smoothness of a pull on pant (and the ease also)
It is probably my age, but ease and comfort are #1 for me!!

My mind immediately goes to "sweatpant" when I see this style, so I can't make myself buy them.

I'm sure pull on pants are cheaper to make but I prefer them. Even when I was younger-30s and 40s--when we traveled a lot, much easier to wear. I think I have only one pair of pants that has a waistband with zipper and button and rarely wear them.

You say they must be cheaper to make. I say they must be big sellers since so many of the designers are making them,

They scream cheap to me. All I can think of is when I used to walk in a store for cheap clothing and there'd be those elastic waist pull-on polyester pants. And back then, elastic waists were not smooth. It was the type of pants old ladies wore, so I swore I would never wear them.
To me, jeans aren't really jeans without a zipper just like jeans need those bulky topstitched seams. I do have a couple of pair of pull-on straight leg ankle pants, but that's only because that was all I could find. And they don't fit me any better than zipper jeans with the gap in the back. I would never wear them with a tucked in shirt though. I'm post-menopausal but don't feel the need for anything different than what I've always worn.

Knit pull on pants are very popular now. I see them everywhere on everyone. They used to be "old lady" pants (when I was a teenager), but not anymore!
