In the sense that it offers shopping experiences and sells products to consumers, QVC is a store. In the sense that it hasn’t a physical presence for shoppers, no physically displayed merchandise, no cashier, no way to immediately carry home a purchase, it’s really a digital or online retailer. In the sense that society and technology have already coined a very accepted name for this type of entity, it is called a shopping channel.
Why does it matter what any host calls it, except if you own up that it might be a personal irk hearing it other than what you conceive QVC to be? Do you also argue that the checkout feature should not be called a shopping cart or use that symbol so literally??
A rose by any other name is still a rose. Whatever you call QVC is probably just as right as what someone else calls it.
