What is the best resale site?

I was going to sign up and sell some clothing on Thread Up. Site says they will send you a free mailing label. Then they say $14.95 will come off whatever you make after selling your items. Then it says most people only get to sell 40% of what they submit. With Poshmark you have to take your own pictures----same with ebay. Don't know about Mercari.  What have you had success with?

IMHO ebay. I've been there from the start and never had a problem.

Thredup is good, but just know that it takes forever and a day for them to process your items. When I'm ready to sell our family's clothing and other things, I go to both Mercari and Poshmark. Mercari's fees are cheaper, but I like Poshmark's website the best. I also like that shipping is a set $7.67 with the USPS (up to 5 lbs).

Also know this--unfortunately, it has been passed into law that if you sell over $600 in a year, you will receive a 1099 next year that you have to report on your taxes. Not a problem for me, but I can see where if you sell designer stuff for hundreds of dollars, that could be a problem.

@geegerbee I've had great success with Ebay as a buyer and a seller. However, I haven't sold anything in several years so not sure the fee's they now collect. It's pretty easy to sell as well as purchase. I still buy from Ebay several times a month. Good luck.

I looked at a couple of those sites a couple of years ago, and they wouldn't take any of my clothing as they only accepted high end or designer clothing, at least at that time. So, if I was going to sell my clothing, I would just have to use Ebay.

@geegerbee I've sold on Ebay for 27 years and do just fine.

I buy a lot of shipping / office supplies on Ebay too, very competitive with Amazon.

@Icegoddess

I've never seen anything high-end on Thredup.  I have purchased a few items from Poshmark and they were sold as high-end, but when I received them, they were worn to death and one pair of expensive shoes, the soles had come unglued.  Not worth $125, that's for sure.

I use local consignment.  I don't want to deal with all of the packing and going to the PO everytime there is a sale.
