I guess they want to make the clothes look as attractive as possible by using the clip.

They should have just put the woman in a smaller size to make it less wide.  I can't imagine it would have made much of a difference to not clip it since it's so roomy anyway!!

i remember years ago when Sears catalog was my go-to for shopping, there was a male modeling boxer underwear who had a serious clothing malfunction.

That was quite the slip-up that I am sure someone probably lost their job over.
