A pair of navy cropped leggings and a print tunic to go with them which I bought circa 1990 at The Limited.
They are on the top shelf in my bedroom closet, and I can't even reach them any more.
Can't seem to part with them. Just like knowing they are there. lol

Collection of sun visors and sun hats. Don't know why I do that. Everything else I scale down each season. It wasn't easy at first but I don't miss anything I've recycled or given away.

Why? What's wrong with Good Will " making a profit?"
Good Will uses the profits to train disabled people so they can get jobs and sustain themselves. They also help them find jobs.
Why should the disabled be passed over for needy people? Disabled people are needy too.
We all have our own way of donating items. There is no right or wrong as there are many people who need help and many ways to help them.

Sweaters. I make lots of sweaters for charity and they pile up in the closet until I have enough to fill a bag.
Today - I finally "got rid of" a bag of lap afghans that I made for charity. A friend was going up - and offered to take my stuff.

None anymore...
After my big purge last year, what sentimental pieces I had I took a pic of and to the charity they went. The ones that weren't necessarily sentimental but saved hoping I could get back into someday also went. Too much time had passed and what looked good on me in my 30's & 40's doesn't look good on me now.
It has been fun filling the closet with clothes that I love now and look great on me at 60 and several sizes smaller....close to what I used to weigh. When I purged, I put on every piece of clothing. If I didn't LOVE how it looked on me, it went to charity.
Side Note: Some might think that is too much work...putting on every single piece. Well, think about it. You may love a top or pair of pants holding it up, but just might hate it when you pit it on. So then you are putting back clothes in your closets or drawers that serve no purpose for you and taking up prime real estate.

I don't have anything old. I already tackled that. My closet has a few pieces that have seen better days, but I can't get rid of them. I love them and still wear them.. LOL. Their day is coming though.

My Mother bought me 2 Pendleton 49er jackets around 1958. I wore those jackets through high school and college and didn't get rid of them until around 1990. You've heard the saying "what's old is new again? Pendleton reissued them this year (they originally put them in their line in 1949, reissued them in 2000 and then again in 2019. I bought a 2000 version off eBay and a new one this year. I've enjoyed wearing them again.

I try to get rid of anything in my closet I have not worn in 2 years even if the tags are still on it. That being said I have 2 Pendelton wool jackets from the 80's that I cannot part with and I have not worn those in many years. They just don't make clothes that high quality anymore, even Pendelton.

I donate to local thrift shop that 100 percent of it's sales supports Hospice House.
