Color. I'll always look twice at something that's white / black or black and white.
Colorful abstract or geometric prints.
If it's black or white and has a turtleneck ... it's mine!

Big richly colored floral prints always catch my attention. I have to be careful not to become so enthralled with the print that I overlook other important quality details in the garment. Perforation and eyelet are effects which always appeals to me. I think it's because to my eye they look like monochromatic flowers on the item.
My dealbreaker keep it away from me details are excess buttons, studs, and zippers. Usually skip epaulets too, but acccept them on a trench coat for in those the epaulets are necessary to give the coat a classic detail.

Usually, I don't go shopping just to roam the racks looking for inspiration. If I need a red turtleneck sweater, for example, I go shopping for a red turtleneck sweater. Nothing else. No blue, no round collar, no pants.... etc. I'm seriously focused on what I need. If I find one, I buy it and leave the store.
In general, though, I'm probably attracted most to certain colors. Then, I feel fabrics and how a garment is made - quality. Too many embellishments make me run in the other direction - except I always have to check out utility jackets and cargo pants. I like pockets.
Fun discussion, @Andreatoo.

I like no-embellishment embellishments. 🙂
My favorite is darts and seaming.

It would be easier for me to list the design details that make me run the other way, but I won’t go there. 😉
I am attracted first to color over anything else.

Certain colors attract me. Logo offers great colors but I don't like her styles unless it is a tee shirt type with a straight hem,
I also like small pockets on tee shirts.

V-neck first, then grommets or ruching.

@magicmoodz .... That falls into my definition of "style"! Very pretty top. I love the neckline, collar, and cuffs!
