What color shoes would you wear with a gold lace dress?

It's a "shift" type dres - sleeveless, high neck with gold metallic "collar" - looks like a necklace actually. Definite 60s vibe to it. Would gold sandals be too much gold? I have nude leather & patent t-straps that might go too. I bought it to wear to my husband's 60s reunion.

i have gold strappy sandals and that's what i would wear. your shoes sound like they may work, but it is hard for me to envision. try then on together and i'm sure you'll know whether it's a yes or no.

Thanks! My gold sandals are strappy and a high-ish heel.

You do not say where you are wearing this dress. To a wedding, to a cocktail party, to church event. If to a cocktail party, the strappy gold as long as the golds do not fight with one another If you are wearing this to a before 5 p.m. wedding, I would opt for a soft cloth in a creamy fabric. If you are wearing to church, wear nude heels. Another option in wintertime is a strappy black suede with black suede or velvet clutch and a black velvet jacket or shawl.

But is the reunion in a football stadiium, a church, a hotel ballroom, and is it 5 a.m., noon or 8 p.m. Also the dress could be worn for other affairs. That was my point. I don't know where the reunion is taking place I don't know what time of day or night or what the venue would be like. A restaurant with barbecue, a brunch in midday, a dinner cruise on a small vessel, a cocktail party at the Four Seasons, Madison Avenue. Inquiring minds need information.

Yeah it's in a church at a football stadium at 5AM. Really?! Venue hasn't been determined yet actually but it'll be late afternoon/early evening - probably at a hotel. Drinks and dinner.
