I  can understand your feelings.

In the same idea, I am over some of the "high-low" mixes.  Some are plain unappealing to me to the max degree!

If anyone likes all of the high low mixing, enjoy.

@ECBG    I have to agree... I am so tired of the high low thing.  Maybe it is because I am on the petite side...Those styles look like maternity clothes on me.  🤦🏻‍♀️.  I tried it once, and knew I just could not carry it off.  I'll stick to the classics.

Mine comes from the look of those black and white high (or low) top sneakers.  I hated them when I saw them as a child.  "Trainers" or tennis shoes as European stylists refer to them are like nails on a chalk board when I see them with a nice outfit.

There are many comfortable casual shoe lines like Earth.

@ECBG   I just had a flashback to those black and white sneakers. Yes they were awful.  They remind me of the spectator shoes my mom and grandmother wore.  I guess black and white was stylish then.  As for sneakers now.... I have purchased a couple pairs over the years, but never wore them.  My granddaughter claims them quickly since we are almost the same size.
I also like the Earth brand.

@QVCkitty1 @I agree! I would need to see it and then decide. I have seen some women pull it off and make it work! I enjoy seeing what outfits people put together. To me that is what makes fashion fun!

My family owned the top men's and women shoe store from the end of WW 1- 1981.

Ladies spectator pumps actually came from men's wing tip shoes, which were a classic.

Men's wing tips were black and white in and just after the flapper era, 1920's.

I thought you were going to state that there was a tattoo peeking through the lace.  That would ruin the top for me.  I have seen tattos ruin the appearance of otherwise beautiful brides.

@ECBG   Wow that is so interesting.  I know my dad had those shoes.  He loved a classic design....I didn't realize the ladies spectator shoes came from that style.

I used to live at the beach.   "Shirts and shoes required" to enter any establishment.

Now I live on the desert.   "Legal" required in public.

@depglass

Sounds kinda Stevie Nicks.  While I personally wouldn't wear it, it's definitely a "look."

Just a side note - all athletic shoes are called "tennis shoes" where I live.  Never called them anything else in my life, not sneakers or trainers or anything else.  I think that's one of those things they use in those quizzes that tell you what part of the country you live in based on the words you use.
