What I Wore (w/e 8/19/23)...

Hi fashion friends.

Playing with a different silhouette this year has been so much fun and gave me an option for my uniform (longer/flowier top over slim/straight bottom). I don't want to look the same every day, and different prints/patterns/colors in long flowy tops don't cut it for me as different enough, but silhouette does.

I thought I was done buying baggier/wider bottoms, not to mention that I think I bragged last week that my last summer piece was purchased 5-6 weeks ago. Opps! Went to Marshall's, saw this Rachel Zoe linen/rayon two-piece set, and fell in love. So, this is the last summer piece...really...I mean it.

There was a time I wouldn't have given something like this a second look...too baggy on bottom, too short on top...but it fits just like the very first "different silhouette" piece I bought (black Tiana B. jumpsuit, which is one of the most versatile pieces I own and love).

#1    Dinner with Handsome...

*Comfy, easy, breezy red/white Rachel Zoe set. *Franco Sarto sandals in this pic, but I switched to a thrifted (NWT) Universal Threads red/white sandal (close-up). *Old Lucky Brand straw bag.

Tie-front is built-in and creates a bit of a peplum with the seaming.  The bag charm is LDO's fish pendant, which I never wear as a pendant.

#2   Back to my uniform (which I love)...pic from last year, but I wore this exact outfit to lunch with a gf this week...

*Old thrifted Chico's no-iron cotton blouse.  *Very old Kut from the Kloth embroidered jeans.  *You've seen the (thrifted) espadrilles, (thrifted) bag and jewelry.

Close-up of embroidery on each side...pale grey and silver threads...LOVE these jeans.

#3   Shopping/thrifting/errands (pic from last year), and one of my favorite outfits...

*Black Eileen Fisher cotton gauze blouse.  *Levi's blue Dad jeans.  *Same old bag from the beach, Pliner slides, jewelry.

Hope all of you have a great week!

I love your outfits, especially the top one. Very chic. And the embroidery on the jeans, perfect. I have to go thrifting! I've been doing this all wrong. 🥰

@MacDuFF.  I love that first outfit.  It looks so cool and comfortable.  It's sort of a departure from your usual.  Looks great on you and I like the unexpected red (rust?) accessories.

@MacDuFF

I LOVE that top outfit...looks like a jumpsuit without the issues that go with wearing some jumpsuits. I also really like that black blouse with your light jeans. Very sharp. And, well, we have the same basic uniform...jeans and a white button up. Yep...that's me too. Jeans, belt and jewelry may change...but jeans and a white blouse are the base. You do have way more purses than me. I rarely carry one anymore.

Everything looks so good!  The first one is so cool and summery and fits so well.  My favorite is the last with that black blouse tied at the waist. You couldn't look any more chic!

Love your new, fresh and breezy RZ outfit. I like the wider legs, it elongates and flatters. The red bag and your necklace compliment the outfit.

You look like a million in the third outfit. No surprise the beautiful black top is Eileen Fisher. I usually don't care for shirts tied at the waist but you look wonderful. Your bag is the perfect accessory and I like the sandals.

There is nothing like a crisp white shirt and you wear it beautifully in outfit #2.

@MacDuFF I love everything the first outfit just looks like a summer night out but I also really like #3 it's just something about a black with jeans that I really like together.

You are such a classy dresser! I love it all.

I also feel the need to get to a thrift store stat and up my

dressing game.

You look great in everything, but I like your usual style the best !
