Re: What I Wore (w/e 10/14/23)...

Hey @Sooner     I wish you had a pic of your room, too!   Lately, I've especially been drawn to pink and red.

@shoptilyadropagain    @wilma   @jlkz    jlkz 's comment sent me running for a (perfect) pair of shoulder pads I've had for over 20 years that I kept for such a time as this, but, looong story short, I couldn't find them...20 years I lugged those things around in my sewing kit, and, the one durned time that I need them, they've disappeared. Murphy's Law if I ever heard it. But...

I used a pair of short socks in lieu of shoulder pads to try your idea. It worked, but it pulled up the arm pit too much and threw off the "line" of the jacket.

I looked under the arm to see if I could tweak it and found that the previous owner had taken in that area by a few inches, tightening up the overly long arm opening. My guess is, she was having similar problems with the drape and over-size nature of the piece. @queendiva  was right, the sleeves were wonky, but I didn't know why.

I took out those stitches (the bane of my fashion existence, I tell ya!) and realized that the designer knew what they were doing because it "corrected" the line and drape of the piece, but I'm probably the only one who would notice the difference.

@Terrywu  is right, though, it's still over-sized/bulky, and it does accentuate my wimpy shoulders, but I'm going to keep the vest for now.

Honestly, diva, I think I hesitate to re-donate it not because of the price, but because it's so perfect for transition, and I've had such a hard time getting transition pieces that work in our climate and aren't jackets or open front cardigans.

BTW, diva, you didn't mention what two clothing pieces you bought at the Q outlet...inquiring minds, etc!

Hi @tends2dogs   I almost never have a problem sliding out of mules, although I can't run in them, that's for sure, but I do have some half (?) socks that just cover my toes and ball of foot and have grippy pads on the bottom that help, if needed (I use foot powder now and then and that can make the insole slippery TMI TMI).

@DSD2   No pearl in the SS cross...just a Southwestern design. Every time I drop something in the donation bag, I say, "Someone is going to love this and be very happy!" Which makes me feel better...win-win!

Isn't it annoying how wimpy shoulders can completely throw off the fit @ROMARY?!

Thank you   @teganslaw  Heart   @GinaV24  Heart   @Iwantcoffee  Heart  @Lisa Y Heart   @Parischic  Heart   @Mindy D  Heart   @kindred cats  Heart   @AngelPuppy1  Heart  and  @Enufstuff  (it's a real challenge keeping up with the cute Toni girls' outfits!) Heart
