Hi fashion friends.

The recent Time of Endless Scrolling did me in, so I hit the reset button and hope I at least hearted all the nice ladies who responded to my last WIW.

Summer is finally here, but it's been surprisingly mild. Temps have been in the 80s, but, thankfully, the humidity has been low. We're hoping this is one of the rare Southern summers with mild, pleasant weather.🤞

This 100% cotton Magaschoni blouse is, IIRC, my third B&M purchase this year. It was a steal at Marshall's. The manufacturer's tag showed the original price as $139, but the Marshall's tag showed a "compare at" price of $55, a regular price of $39, and a sale price of $32 (that should make sense if you shop at Marshall's). I think the Marshall's tag was a mistake...the compare at price should have been MSRP $139 and should have been priced higher than $39. Whatever. It was a steal.

I'm not super familiar with Magaschoni, but I think everything about this blouse is quality, from the cloth covered buttons, to the beautiful fabric, to the workmanship. It fits like a glove. The color will probably read white on your computer, but it's a powder/baby blue. There's a bit of a balloon shape to the upper part of the sleeves, which I don't love, but that can be easily taken in...or not.

That said, I'm hemming and hawing over it because I think it seems too dressy...a too fancy for my lifestyle kind of feeling. I say that because I had a hard time styling it from my closet. This sounds contradictory, but, on the other hand, it's not what you'd call extremely dressy either. It was easier to dress it up though (black pants in #1) than to dress it down (the other three pics).

Throughout the years, I've gotten such good styling tips from y'all that I wanted to get your opinions. What are your thoughts on these outfits? Does it look like I'm wearing a dressy top with cropped, frayed jeans (my Mom would be mortified😮😉)? Favorite? Least favorite? How would you wear it?

#1
Newly thrifted black Natori slim ankle pants (sold back in the day on HSN...very nice quality). Thrifted Minkoff slightly fringed crossbody. Old Bueno sandals. Since this is the dressy outfit, I would carry another bag (probably black)...this one reads too casual to me...?

#2
Blue Makowsky crossbody, blue Converse high tops, AG Harper jeans, all thrifted. The sneaks seem totally at odds with the blouse...?

#3
AG Isasbelle crops, Tommy Hilfiger Kimey espadrilles. This is...just okay. Now that I'm looking at these pics in my post vs Handsome's mobile, these espadrilles would look better than the sneaks in #2, which makes me wonder if I should make the blouse a transitional item to wear with long jeans...rather than a summer item? I might be on to something...this is maybe not the best blouse to wear in the summer.🤔

#4
This is my favorite. Levi's slim jeans, thrifted SAK, Eileen Fisher denim espadrilles. I prefer the sleeves down, which is a shocker right there...I zhuzh up almost all my sleeves, especially in the summer (another clue this is not a summer top maybe). I'd wear this to lunch, shopping, errands. But, long jeans, long sleeves and close toed sandals would be too hot in my neck of the woods. Dang, this could be a light bulb moment!

Close-up...

You might be saying to yourself something like, "Silly MacDuff. All this bother and angst and ridiculousness over a blouse...bless her heart." I guess I couldn't blame you for thinking that.😁 I'm really not suffering over it, but styling a new item is what I do in my spare time, and I thoroughly enjoy it. This danged blouse, however, has me flummoxed!

Hope everyone has a great week.

A fabulous blouse! I like it paired with black or maybe navy or any dark-ish solid jewel tone? Or a bright pastel? Jeans? My least favorite choice for this blouse. However, the more I think about it, the more I like the idea of bright pastel slacks paired with it -- I think they would play up the summery flavor of the top. Espadrilles? Yes!

It is a beautiful blouse.

I actually like #2 because it all looks good with the colors and also the sneakers because I think it all looks good with a closed toed shoe. I mean long sleeve blouse, long pants, the sandals look out of place or unfinished to me.

So if #4 had closed toed shoes and not a sandal and maybe even in the same colors-white, that would be my favorite.

I'm all about obsession lol. So you are in good company!

I adore that blouse!  Anything with this type of lace - I am absolutely enamored with!  I like all of your looks -- you show how versatile it is. It could be paired very nicely with a cute denim skirt also.

Hi @MacDuFF I understand the "joy in the styling" and don't feel you're "stressing" over a blouse...just styling and curating from your closet...I am like that too and appreciate it. And who doesn't like a nice quality, unusual piece from a Marshall's find? Well...at least, I do! The blouse is pretty...but I can see it will be one of those things a bit hard to just fit into any look, especially casual.

That said...I like #4 best. #3 2nd best, and yes, goes nice with esparadrilles.

No to #3, it is at odds with the sneaker look.

And to me, #1 is fine, just meh, boring. Like that bag, though. Smiley Happy

May not be your style, but I can see this type blouse with a durndle shaped, full, linen skirt and esparadrilles.

Or some kind of dressed up/casual (maybe linen also) wide legged pant.

But I think it will not be the most versatile, fits right into any outfit type piece to have around. It can just be special for a few outfits...it is very pretty and looks like quality, well-made. I'm not familiar with the brand you said it is.

Such a pretty blouse. Although I like all of the looks, # 3 & # 4 are my favorites.

What a beautiful top!  I like all the looks, especially the ones with darker bottoms for the contrast.  I like the juxtaposition of the lace with denim.  Love the texture.  I think you could wear this lots of different ways.  It makes me want to rush off to Marshalls!
