But the lack of seasonal change is still weird to me. It will still be 90 degrees and humid in September, October. Nothing really changes. The fashions sure don't. Same tropical prints, bright colors, shorts, sleeveless tops.Sometimes I see younger women wearing leather boots and jackets. They literally must be steaming in those. 🥵 For myself, the wardrobe stays the same. Only thing fall-ish will be my new forest green Dooney. Waiting to unwrap it in September.
I usually head to Florida for awhile at the end of October/early November. Up until then, I'll still be wearing shorts 85% of the time. I hear you on Florida fashions. I see lots of cute things in the stores down there, but I know I would never wear them up here - not even in the summer. It's a definite Florida vibe.

I'm still in summer! I'm not ready to give up my summer clothes!
But when it does get cooler, fall colors are MY colors! I am warm complected, and the colors of fall have always been my favorites.
When I was asked to be a model years ago for a salon training session by Carole Jackson's trainers, no one was surprised they classified me as "autumn"!
So I look forward to the colors in fallen leaves on the ground - russet reds, yellows, greens, browns - and golden harvest moons, twilight blue skies. pine green, pumpkin, cream, and my favorites teal (and turquoise), and dark olive.

where in Michigan? I tried to show a native Floridian where we moved from, using my Michigan hand map. Oh gosh you never saw a more confused person 😁😆😂
Southwestern part of the state, just about halfway between Chicago & Detroit.
I love the hand map!
we moved here from Kalamazoo. Sounds like you're also from that area

@ROMARY wrote:I haven't read all of the posts (as usual).....I do like the idea of rich, deep burgundy pants.
Love deep burgundy sweaters worn with light powder blue tops/shirts.
Also deep green worn with turquoise in various ways.
Let's see........I'll be back after I have a bit of time to read other suggestions. Sometimes they remind me to think of those colors in my closet or what I'd like to purchase.
I have a burgundy suit that I wear (I got the pants and skirt to go with the blazer). I wear it with a powder blue shirt/blouse. Once when I wore it, I was shopping in a high-end store which clothes I could not afford but I like to look. The lady who was helping me said: "You sure have taste and class. Those colors are magnificent. I don't know why I have not put that together in the store."
