Don't over think it. It's just a "fashiony" thing to give an outfit some interest. Like wearing a scarf or a necklace.

@ROMARY Sewing was fun back then. I had skirts with that waist with the zipper on the side. Once, I made a pair of pants with that waist and side zipper. It was early 70's, so they were
a small bell bottom, fitted above the knee. The fabric was a cerise color velveteen. I made them for a winter party and wore a white blouse that had a ruffled vee neckline, no collar.
I loved creating outfits for myself and my three girls.
Later, I was making dance costumes for my girls dancing school
and in the 80's for myself for Middle Eastern dancing. The places
where I bought such beautiful fabrics and trims and beads for costumes, no longer exist. Now it is only Joann.
The good old days.

EnufStuff: I'm right now imagining the beautiful fabrics used for you and others in your Middle Eastern Dancing classes.
So beautiful, in my thoughts.
A hundred years ago (lol), I took a belly dancing class.
I was seriously way too stiff for that class. Not limber enough.
But, it was fun, even though I can only imagine what the regular dance students and instructor were thinking about me.
