@ECBG  I have really blue eyes (with almost blue sclerae.  Although my eyes are faded more than when I was young, they are still very blue (Paul Newman blue) The outer circle of my iris looks either black or dark navy blue.  The pupil is black (transparent).  I don't see any other colors except what I described but I don't have very good eyesight in my right eye and it was my dominant eye until I had MS and then shingles in that eye.  My coloring is a lot like Jackie (model).  In fact, my face looks a lot like Jackie albeit I could be her mother based on age.

I talked to my dermatologist today after receiving a message in my portal.  He is hopeful we can get rid of enough of the butterfly with new medications, lostions, steroids, etc., that the concealer he recommends will hopefully "disappear" the butterfly.  Most of the time I cannot see the butterfly when I apply concealer but when I see pictures of me, the butterfly shows brightly.  So what color would you think?  Maybe I just cannot see any other colors in my eyes but blue.   (I have been a bit colorblind secondary to optic neuritis, resulting from all my neurologic ailments).  I hate to sound like a cripple because I am not and that should be left for people who actually have disabilities.  I am quite functional.  I feel guilty complaining and comparing myself to those who actually have real problems.

@Nonametoday,Hello Lovely!  More than glad to help.  What does your skin tone look like in yellow green, orange, and how does black do under your face?  What colors have always been bad with your skin, not your hair color or that you didn't like?

@ECBG  You are most kind to spend your time doing this.  I can wear black.  Not as well as I did when i was younger.  I think as I have gotten older my skin has gotten pallor.  I have more beige skin (a yellow beige) but very fair (except in the area of my butterfly where the skin is very pink).  I have always had trouble with makeup for that reason but I have worn Buff N 210 Lancome foundation for years and prior to that I wore Bare Minerals medium beige.  Then the BM quit working for me, not sure it was the foundation or my complexion but that color Buff N 210 Lancome worked for me for years.  I will be in search of what works for me once I get the complexion issues sorted out.  (My redness got far worse when I had shingles on my face and never seemed to return to its normal red).  I cannot wear ivory whites or any whites with yellows.  I don't wear beige yellows well, makes me look jaundiced.  Like everyone, I wear hot pink, pinkish coral and turquoise very well. Optic white is one of my best colors.  Black is okay, just not as great as it was when I was younger. I don't do well in camel and the khakis with yellow undertones.  I can wear the gray/pink taupe tans.  I wear royal blue very, very well.  I have a bright orange ribbon sweater I got at Chico's which I wear with a crisp white shirt and have been told that is one of my best looks.   I have a bright yellow jacket that, which I wore once for a civic picture and it is hanging in the city gallery of candids and people have told me what a great picture (it's the bright spring yellow jacket).  Purple is a great color for me but not that light lavender.  I look dead in light peach (that color Louis dell Olio calls alabaster which is a pale peach makes me want to bury my ownself.  I can wear red, red wine if it has some blue.

@Nonametoday, Please don't be discouraged because I will need to speak with you several times to actually get you right.

Is your sight well enough to put a mirror next to a window and hold up some colors?  We are looking for shadows to come up below the eyes and around the mouth.

I with no makeup, need you to take a mirror next to a window  with full sunlight. Look at your face only, not the color. This is best to do in your bra with the straps pulled down.

Working with solid color tops folded in half horizontally, hold black under your chin for about 15 seconds. Do you see shading under the eyes and around the laugh lines?  Move the drape up and down, 15 second intervals, keeping your eyes on your face, not the color.  Be very slow.

Do black,  medium gray if you have anything that color  (you may have to borrow a shirt from DH or a towel), navy,  true blue based red, not tomato red which is slightly yellow., then bright off white, then cream.

Now do orange.

I am looking for several things because of the colors you wear well.

Have fun!Smiley Happy

@ECBG - I've never heard of her before, but I just watched the videos you posted and found them interesting.

I've been playing around with this for a long time, ever since I was a "model" for Carole Jackson's team.

I do believe in color theory. For years, I have used it. What she says about the right colors making you look radiant and the wrong ones making you look tired is so true!  Smiley Happy

@ECBG I see what you say about the orange.  Yes, I see orange undertones in my complexion when I do white, when I do black and real purple but when I do lavender, ivory and that mid gray, I see more yellow-orange color to my face and bittersweet chocolate makes me look good but a light fudge color makes me look sick.  I think I can do better tomorrow without the rain and more sunlight but this is what I get with sun peeking through clouds at my east-facing (morning) window.

The very thin skin beneath my eyes (I hope that is what you mean is very lavender blue) and the color of my arm veins blue but not as blue as my daughter who is much younger with better circulation and not greenish like a DIL who has reddish-blond (natural) hair and greenish eyes.

Off to pulmonary specialist annual visit (for asthma).  Love you.  Thank you.  TTYL.  Have a great afternoon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: What Colors Are Best For You? Justine Leconte:)

@ECBG I haven't watched the videos yet, I think you explained how to do it yourself before. Go out in the sunlight and use a sheet of paper?

Anyway I never did it. But I have very pale skin with pink undertones, green eyes, medium brown hair.

I love and wear a variety of colors, but mostly jewel tones. I did get a few blush items in the spring and I think that color works well on me.

I love red, don't wear it enough. Same with purple, but I like red more.Green I think looks good on me, except lime. I love to wear black, especially color block dresses with black and another color. White shirts wash me out, I think.

I do love navy, occasionally wear burgundy. I believe I should never wear orange, or yellow. I have one orange top that has more coral mixed with it.

@Greeneyedlady21

I would strongly suggest you watch the video to see how to work with color.

Her way is a little harder.  My way is more friendly to the tye and more easily recognizeable.

It's not about what you like best, although, you will instinctively like a lot of your colors.  In the case of red, there are several hues of that color and we need to see which is your best and will make your complection clear and your eyes shine.

Color Me Beautiful will not only give you all of your colors so you can easily pick them out, but just as importently, you'll see what is bad on you so you don't invest in it.

I with no makeup, need you to take a mirror next to a window  with full sunlight. Look at your face only, not the color. This is best to do in your bra with the straps pulled down.

Please do black, navy, deep charcoal gray, fushia vs lt pink or deep purple vs lt voilet.  Then true white and bright eggshell (off white).  Please keep good notes I may be need to ask questions.Smiley Happy
