Venus of Jacksonville FL $24 Final Sale

My first purchase from Venus. It was the cable knit sleeves that pulled me in. The NM sleeves are much, much nicer. The Venus jacket is more versatile and a little longer, but the sleeves are only half-cable. Was that a cost cutter, or is the flat knit on the inside more comfortable? These are jackets with sweater sleeves, not sweaters. The body of the Venus jacket is lined, non-stretch faux wool. Not sherpa! Not puffer!

Also check out this nice Banana Republic fall jacket. Now $58 but it's been less.

I like both sweaters, but one of them belongs in a huge wardrobe to be worn by someone who can afford such expensive items in quantity.  Pretty as the sweater is, I wouldn't be likely to want to wear it often.

@PickyPicky3 The other sweater not only has features I like (a bit of extra length and a classic hem), but it's "quiet" and won't draw all attention away from the rest of what you're wearing or your face.  Also, it's an investment piece because it won't go out of style or constantly remind your friends you're still wearing a sweater you bought 5 years ago!

I'm with @on the bay, I like the sweater you purchased much better.

I like the color, the sleeves and it was a fabulous bargain.

I like the one you bought better too! More length is always a good thing to me.

For me it's the quilting on the NM one, to me 'quilting' screams 'old lady style'!

I think your purchase was much better than the NM one. 

The thick knitted waist and at the pockets overwhelms the boxy quilted vest.

I'm not a fan of a heavy metal zipper at my neckline either.

I like that yours is better fitted and tonal and not a mix of 3 different colors, too---all of which just adds more inches/pounds to the look.
