IMO, the most important requirement of clothing and shoes is that they be "wearable." I'm planning to wear them, not look at them. I would be unlikely to purchase shoes and clothing that are "unwearable." 
Why exactly is this a selling point? 
(Yes, this is snark-talk for "find a new word".)

I do not know in what reference 'unwearable' was used in your case. Unwearable usually means clothes that are damaged beyond repair or so far out of fashion that you would not want to wear them. IMO
