Re: Water-Resistant Classic Trench Coat

I love the lavender color in this trench.  I use to shop Banana Republic years ago.

Pretty coats, but water "resistant" just won't do it for me.   Fine if you just walk from house to car, or car to office, etc.  But when you have to walk several blocks in the pouring rain ... you ned water proof!

All my raincoaats are water proof.

I have ....

Yellow slicker (Totes)  (matching yellow   rain shoes!)

White 3/4 length (LandsEnd)

Purple/black rather dramatic dressy raincoat with hood (Bought it at Daffy's)

Black (sedate) raincoat (LandsEnd)

I certainly see your point, as someone who lives in a city and does a lot of walking, but for many, a trench isn’t synonymous with a raincoat. Yes, it’s nice to have water-resistance, but I would wear a trench such as this just as a pretty spring topper—rain or shine.

Re: Water-Resistant Classic Trench Coat

I agree with @jonbon that I don't wear my trench coat as a "raincoat."   All my trenches have been transitional coats to go from fall to winter or winter to spring.   I currently have a Joan Rivers' trench -- beige, lined in a leopard print.  It's old, but still looks like new.
