Hello fashion friends.

Still dealing with unusually warm temps most days, but had a few cold days this week.

#1

*Nicole Miller (taupe/mushroom?) cashmere elephant sweater (Rack). *The "Duffie"...I cut the sleeves and collar from a denim shirt and sewed them onto a black short sleeved tee...voilà! No button, seam, or placket lumps and bumps, only a smooth base layer with denim sleeves and collar. *AG Harper indigo. *Blondo boots.

Elephants are embroidered and in different colors. I originally ordered the sweater in black, but went on a no-more-black kick and exchanged for the taupe. Here's a close-up of an elephant on the black.

Didn't I say that I was done shopping for winter clothes? Yes. Yes, I did! But, that's never stopped me before haha, and I couldn't resist this one for $5.50.  Plus, it brought some color into my winter wardrobe (I can justify any purchase!).

*Thrifted Talbots Fair Isle mohair blend hand-knit cardigan. *Thrifted lightweight Peck & Peck grey mock neck. *AG Harper mid-tone. *Blondo boots.

Washed up like a dream.  Accurate color...

I hope y'all have a great week!

Lookin' good this week @MacDuFF .  i especially like your Fair Isle sweater and love your Duffie alteration of the tee to add sleeves and collar.  Very clever.

I agree with @Kachina624 !

What a clever idea to alter the denim shirt and combine it to a tee!

Your creativity is very impressive and stylish, love the embroidered elephants!  The Fair Isle cardigan is lovely and I can see why you couldn't resist buying it!!!!!  I love cardigans, sweaters with buttons and  they were part of my work wardrobe!

@QVCkitty1   Naw...more like a "necessity is the mother of invention" thing.  I hate all the bumps and bulk of a button front under a sweater.  I do not need any extra bulk around BottiBelly haha.

@MacDuFF : SO much to love about this week's post.

Colorful, embroidered elephants? On cashmere?? Yes, please!

That Talbot's hand knit thrifted fair isle cardi. That's what I'm talking about! We make our shopping rules only to break them, and only as necessary, as in this case. That cardi was not to be left behind, rules be da!*ed.

Your Duffie: just genius, especially done with denim.

There will not be much clothing to be found at thrift this month if past history is any indicator. Just as well- I gained lbs last month so I am now dieting again to fit in a smaller size when spring hits the thrifts next month.

Picked up 2 items this week: First was new, at retail (see: shopping rules meant to be broken). As per a post on the fashion forums I went to my local Kohl's- a store where I rarely shop- and found an item that I have actually bought there previously and loved: a Vera Wang 2 pc. fleece "lounge" set- slim pants and oversized cardi with pockets. I have purchased this set previously in both gray and black. I found the only one in the store. It was my larger size, but still works. Black pants and tan/ black animal print cardi. Excellent quality, and half off clearance: $15.00/set. Comfy, warm without the bulk and not pajama-like at all. I have worn it out and about.

The other item purchased was at thrift. I popped in to show the owner the gorgeous wool coat I had purchased there recently. I call it my Compliment Magnet. Anyway, I scored a faux suede snap front topper in a camel color. Like new condition. Grabbed it right off the display mannequin. Showed some restraint by leaving behind a black pullover sweater with embroidery. Her store is $$$ than most thrifts, but she has some cool items. I will be wearing the topper soon (i hope): as soon as spring weather arrives.

As always, thanks for sharing and have a blessed week.

Love what you did with black tee.  So clever and a lot more comfortable.  As usual dressed to the nines....is that still a term to use for looking good?
