Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK OF QVC'S SOCIAL MEDIA SITE: toGATHER?

It seem to be just another method of showcasing merchandise they already have on-line. I suppose it doesn't hurt anything, but I don't really see the point. I supposed a different way of organizing merchandise might mean you spot something you missed before, but I'm not sure it's all that useful. QVC needs to focus on better programming and more variety and less on social media.

My guess is QVC has put some money into the development of toGather. Unfortunately, that probably increases the cost of merchandise, decreases our ability to ever see reduced or free shipping, and gives me no hope that the actual shopping website will be reformatted to look like it is current and attractive.

I also didn't like that it used my real name. Out of curiosity after I'd "pinned" a few things, I googled my name, and the first results that came up were from ToGather. Haven't used it since, and there is no way to delete your account with it. I need to just email Q and see what they say. Matter of fact, I'm going to do that now.

I'm glad you mentioned that. I didn't like it either.

I use just a variation of my first name on Pinterest (and there are tons of Susans, so I feel pretty anonymous!). And for Twitter, I use my first & middle names. I don't think I've ever seen anything where actual full names are used so blatantly without the person having the option to choose whatever user name they want.

Yes, QVC, making my first and last name public like that without my permission is definitely not cool.

surprise_sometime, if you get a response, can you please let us know? Kiss

I haven't even looked at he site, but it appears to be a copy of "Pinterest"??? I think QVC should start focusing on offering stylish fashions!

Never thought of it that way, but you could very well be right. Along the same lines, I guess it also follows that because of all the emphasis they now have on social media, the potential for them to ever address rotten programming and limited merchandise variety might also be impacted, and not in a good way...

I don't care to link my Facebook account and information to QVC's. It seems like a privacy issue to me. I went to the site but didn't ""log in on FB"" as directed.

And all this silliness from a TV shopping channel that cannot put clothing sizes up on screen when selling fashion, take a decent photograph to display the fashion items they are trying to sell or operate a decent search function on their web site.
