I find the inherent iridescence of velvet to be very pleasing.

I refer to it as my guilty pleasure because it can easily go a little bit tacky. I like the burnouts because they're a little more subtle

I like velvet and I do wear it casually.  I have 3 velvet drape neck tops from Susan Graver several years ago and I still love them and wear as casual wear with my velvet jeans.   I have several velvet burnout and several other velvet tops.  About 6 pair of Diane Gilman velvet jeans.  Just ordered the new velvet utillity shirts from Belle and will wear as casual wear.

I have a wine velvet tank, cardigan and pants from Susan Graver.  I would wear the pieces separately as casual, but not all three except as dressy.

Also have black, hunter green and chocolet velvet pants.

I do have velvet that is only worn dressy - to me it depends on the style.

Don't think I will go for the velvet shoes and bags tho.  I would prefer to wear suede shoes with velvet for dress up and just nice shoes with velvet for casual.

Over the years I've accumulated a lot of velvet pieces.  Most are black but I do have some navy, burgundy and dark green.  They are all classic pieces so (IMO) never go out of style.  I have a few pairs of black velvet shoes, both dressy and casual.

Back in the 1980s, I purchased (for my Christmas outfit) a long, black velvet skirt with tiny red embroidered bows.  I wore it with a red cashmere twin set.  Almost every Christmas since then, whenever we've hosted Christmas dinner, I've worn it.  It's become a family joke tradition.

Way back when, QVC always offered nice quality velvet separates.  I remember a lovely velvet burnout big shirt and tank that was a TSV.  I had it in 3 colors.

I bought this velvet boyfriend blazer (from Express) that I will wear casually around the holidays.  I love the color and the sheen.  My skin and hair color is similar to the model's.

It won't be a workhorse in my wardrobe.  It's just a little bit of fun.

Very nice, but why only wear it during the hoildays?  It would look great with a pair of jeans and a white shirt.

I love velvet from rich lux materials. I loath cheap poly nylon velvets as they often look and feel tacky and are not a nice feeling on the skin.

Good velvet is a time tested classic.

Im loving some of the shoes in velvet but where I live it is too hot in the summer and too wet in the winter.

I have a drop dead gorgeous burgandy velvet dress that I have had for 25 years! I wear it for Christmas nearly every year or a holiday party and always get so many compliments. It is so soft and luxe I never get tired of it. Every time I edit my closet it stays. I don't have anything else I've owned even 1/2 as long as that dress. It has an empire waist so it is forgiving if I go up or down a few sizes which I have....

Not from this season, but I have a supply of velvet items from other years.  I don't wear them very often so they will probably last forever.

I don't plan on buying anything else.

I like velvet but the only item I have at the current time is a pair of black velvet jeans.  I haven't seen anything I love lately.

I have purchase a wine colored pair of velvet sneakers  and a matching velvet sweatshirt.  I also purchased a casual velvet  blue cross body bag.  Considering a bomber jacket  and a dressy top! Love the softness of velvet.

I am jealous of your wine colored velvet sneakers.  I haven't been able to find any in my size!

A few years ago, I was fortunate to receive a beautiful black velvet swing coat from the early '60's.  It's gorgeous and I wear it every year!

I did buy some cute velvet slip on sneakers for this year.  They're easy and fun to wear.
