Recently I asked about repair of a small (about3/8") crack in a vintage LV bag. You guys had many suggestions.

LV would not repair. They said they would consider a replacement if the bag was still made and if certain vefrifications could be made.

I sent to bag to RAGO Brothers. Their web site is very informative. I shipped the bag and in a couple of days they quoted me $80.00 for repair. They paid for and returned bag by FedEx in about a week.

It is glued somehow and not repaired by replacing the cracked material. It looks perfect but time will tell if it will hold.

They told me that using leather conditioners on LV bags is not useful due to the coated canvas will not absorb the conditioner. Don't store in any way that would crease the bag. I'll admit mine were kinda squished while not in use. I have gone back and stuffed my unused bags to prevent any other cracks due to age or poor care.

If you have damaged leather goods they show befores and afters of their works.

How nice!

...but you know, it doesn't do any good stored away.  Use it and enjoy it.

Life it oh so short so enjoy!   I would be so proud to carry a LV bag.
