There is no such thing as an ugly Christmas sweater.

target was also selling a ugly sweater kit back in the Christmas decorations. You could also make your own. buy a sweater or sweatshirt and then hit the craft stores. get a glue gun and a glitter pen and go to town. Glue on Christmas garland, pin ornaments on it preferably those that light up.

I saw some at Sam's Club today. At least I think they meant them to be Ugly Sweaters!

I never knew these were called UGLY - until I went to list some of mine on EBay. There were mountains of them - there. That was December 2013. I haven't checked this year, but assume there are still lots of them listed. I suppose the design of these sweaters could be labeled as UGLY or BEAUTIFUL - it's all in the eyes of the beholder - don't you think?

Evidently the term UGLY has won out. In my eyes, the only UGLY part, is when a nice beautiful sweater has been worn too much and what use to be pretty and nice, is now UGLY in appearance. As with many seasonal holiday sweaters - they are only appropriate to wear at that time of year.

Good Will, Salvation Army Stores, Thrift Stores.... why on earth would you ever go to Macy's and pay that much money for an ugly sweater when you could practically have it for free at a 2nd hand store? Save your money, girl, for more QVC items! (and the posts about going to Ebay is good, too. Search under Ugly Sweaters & then sort by price lowest to highest, find one, pay, get it shipped. Easy!) Have fun at your party!

The thing that bothers me about the Ugly Christmas Sweater phenomenon is that someone may buy these sweaters and wear them because they like them, not being aware of the real intent.

Completely agree. I really dslike the whole "ugly Christmas sweater" thing too, it probably hurts some peoples feelings and just think of all the waste of people running out to get an "ugly sweater" for the occasion when the money for that could be donated to people who could use a sweater regardless of how it looks. Such a waste.
