Saw this dress in an email from Nordstrom about bridal and MOB dresses.

By Adrianna Papell, on sale for $101. Color is aubergine. 95% poly 5% spandex

I love it, simple and elegant. Reminded me of Hilary Swank's famous Oscar dress

I like both long dresses, but I wonder why HS did not hem up that gown, I don't care for it dragging on the ground.

Hillary's dress was all about the dramatic back the went a little below the waist.  She looked stunning.

I really like that dress - very pretty.

I purchased a dress many years ago for my brother's wedding by by Adrianna Papell. Was having a terrible time finding a dress and then I found it at Lord & Taylor.  I still look at it on it's hanger and admire how nice it is and it made me feel very pretty on the special day.

Hilary looked FABULOUS in that dress.

She was so fit and the dress fit her to a T.

(She didn't hem her dress because the "train" was an integral part of the style.)

Adrianna Papell is sort of my go-to for occasion dressing.  I love both dresses here.

I wore the exact same dress in a shorter version in a pretty purple color about 30 years ago,  and I  owned a long black formal version when my 45 year old daughter was a baby.

It's a classic old style that still works.

Hilary's dress was by Guy Laroche. 2005. It's always mentioned among the best Oscar dresses of all time. In her case I think the woman made the dress too. Such a simply elegant dress, but it's her figure that just puts it over the top.

That dress is timeless, could have been worn by an actress in old Hollywood or 20 years from now.
