I think there should be both lengths, some people need tunics for their size, height, or shape, the same goes for shorter tops....I myself need a tunic length for my height and shape......I also do like the longer backs to tops or dresses, to me it is a graceful look.....but not everyone has the same taste so there should be both....there cannot be one style type for all.

I prefer tunic length tops.

I have a long torso and prefer how I look with the longer top.

My legs are longer than petite, but shorter than average for my 5'5" height.

The only things that I buy shorter are layering pieces to wear under the tunics.

I don't need them long and I also don't like the styles where the back is longer than the front.  No mud flaps for me

Mud flaps... 😂. That's a perfect description.  I've been calling them tails.  I don't want tails or mud flaps on my tops.

A question for the ages....where does a top stop and a tunic begin?

For those who think they're too long, you could try a petite but the difference is a joke, usually about 1 inch which is not significant.  Why don't they make petites 3-4" shorter?

@MindyD- Thanks but I seldom see anything that is 28" and below. I wish that plus sizes did not almost always come in a longer length, especially when they are in the "petite" category.

I want my backside covered so a medium length tunic is wonderful.

The tunic length stops where your "leg elastic"  is or below for what I've seen.

Thanks everyone.  I agree we need all lengths.  I just think of a tunic as being longer - thigh length.

@Kachina624 Because not all petites are a lot shorter than plus sizes.  And not all plus sizes are 6-feet tall either.  Sizing is way off in many cases for both ends of the clothing world.

I am often fine with petites or regular sizes--depends.
