I watched the show as a youngster and loved the clothing, especially the geometric design motifs and shapes. One of my favorite dresses in middleschool was a gray jumper with blocks of red outlined in thin black fabric.  The clothing on Perry Mason in the 1960s show is magnificent.

I was obsessed with That Girl!  I wanted to be just like her --- get the apartment she had, wear the clothes she had, be a model and actress, etc.  Of course, she had the doting, successful, adorable boyfriend, too!  I loved that she was so beautiful, yet that was not her personna on the show -- she was goofy, silly and somewhat naive.  It was a lovely, funny and heartwarming show.  She was gorgeous - makeup, hair, figure, etc.  I read a good while back that Marlo said there would have been no way that Ann Marie would have been able to afford the clothing that she wore, etc.  She said --- when she started out, she, herself, wouldn't have been able to afford a lot of them, as they were designer!  I recently watched all of the episodes and found them just as delightful and engaging and fun as when I first watched them!  A treasure -- and as they say -- they don't make 'em like that any more!!!!

My fashion guru in the movies was Doris Day!  Loved everything she wore and did try to emulate her.  I was in college, at the time!

I didn't watch "That Girl" much, except for a couple episodes. I thought the show was kind of silly, so didn't pay attention to her style.

One of the classiest women ever was Audrey Hepburn. She was beautiful and elegant no matter what she wore or how her hair was styled. I wanted to be like her.

Yesterday, a lady shared with me that she and her preteen grandson had been wtching old tv shows together.

The young man said "Grandmother, when did people stop dressing?".

Do you all ever watch That Girl TV? They continuously show That Girl episodes. I have a That Girl t-shirt that I wear constantly too.

I used to love that show and also the Mary Tyler Moore show.   They were both great!  My younger sister got Marlo Thomas' autograph many years ago when she was doing a charity benefit in our town.  (God bless Danny Thomas for St Jude's)   Sadly though, she was kind of rude to my sister who was probably 11 or so at the time, it kind of ruined our perception of her.

Queen of shop!

I do remember Uncle Tonoose, LOL!!!!!!  I loved Rusty, he always had funny lines.

I have vivid memories of so many of the shows I watched when I was young, they did leave impressions.  You are right , we still can enjoy them though times have changed!!!!

I agree about Mary Tyler Moore , she was definitely the independent woman and her show very popular!!!!!
