Thick Waistbands

[ Edited ]

Hi, It seems all I can buy anywhere are slacks with wide waistbands. Because of a medical condition, it is preferable and much more somfortable to have slim waistbands. I know this is currently the style and before, slim waistbands were in style. I wonder if any of the brands at QVC would consider making slacks with thinner waistbands? Am I the only one that finds the huge, chunky waistbands to be very uncomfortable and binding? Thank you for your time.

@lvenjay.  The Denim & Co original waist, 2-pocket pants are the only ones I can recall that have a truly narrow waistband.  Sometimes the French terry knit pants have soft narrower waists, some with adjustable drawstrings which might be comfy.

@lvenjay  Sometimes you have to shop in other places.

As much as I like the look of many wide waistbands, I can't wear them.  My waist goes in and then right back out again, so any waistband will end up scrunched up into that space.  Even the items they claim won't do that.

I have tried other places. It seems this is the style now. Can you suggest places you have tried? I do still have some of my older denim and company thinner waist pants and some old Blair (which has since gone out of business). I have ordered and donated so many pairs of slacks! It is almost cheaper to donate than to return postage. Thank you!

I am same predicament regarding pants. Had stomach tumor removed so after feeding tubes etc can't handle thick bands on that area.  I am so thankful it wasn't cancer.
I tend to order from Walmart, Kohls or JcPennys so can return local to stores.

I also have a tummy tenderness that doesn't like those wide bands.

I cut the underneath side of the waist band and cut the elastic in a couple of places.  You don't need to cut the whole band!  Just a hole big enough to reach the elastic!

Nobody sees it and it has saved several pair of pants!  Just tried it on knits!  They don't ravel.
