I wouldn't call them rules ... but because of my body type there are certain styles that just don't work for me.

I simply avoid them.

I went to Banana Republic's website and found in the petite dresses what is really a fit and flare. It is fitted at the waist and flares out. Also, there were no cold shoulder dresses under the petites. They had off the shoulder dresses.

@lolakimono

I totally agree with your fashion rules----

The dropped waist might be okay if one were pregnant.......I'm not, so no thank you!......

Those shoulder pads belong on an NFL player......

The satin blouse might be OK on Barbie, but not me............

Pleated pants might find favor with fans of the 70's.....but NOT one of my favorite decades for fashion..........(but gee gotta love those prices from the 1970's)!

popover tops------------NO WAY...and will this trend lead to POPTART tops next!!!!

And the only good choker tops.......................

Other fashion rules for me:

NOTHING cold shoulder!

NO trapeze hems---I dont really want my hips to be the focual point

NO shark bite hems---

NO gladiator shoes!

NO distressed or torn jeans

NO wide leg pants I'm petite and they look ridiculous on me

No pants with elastic at the bottom of the leg---I'm not into the I Dream Of Jennie look......

The drop-waist is a MAJOR NOOOOOOOOO for me! It is the most unflattering thing I could EVER put on my body.
