Susan makes pieced faux leather jackets with scalloped seams all the time and I'm so glad I already know what that looks like on me.....
Why anyone thinks a pieced jacket looks better than one that is not is a mystery but to add little girl scalloped edges on the seams, noooo and certainly not on a jacket selling for over $200.

I think that the detailing of any pieced leather is amazing and quality leather is pretty expensive and sewing leather is an art compared to sewing faux leather or other materials. Whether or not SG produces pieced faux leather isn't really comparable except to see how you might like the styling on your body at a much less expense ....
I don't know what the GILI leather jacket is like in person, but I do know that the leather they use in their purse line (the one I bought) is a rich, thick, upper end leather.
I'm not buying the TSV because no matter what they say about it looking good on everyone.... it didn't look good (to me) on the plus size models (size L up), waaaay too short, and waaay too tight....... but I thought the detailing was superb and probably worth what they're asking.... JMHO

I think the problem with G.I.L.I. is in their attempt to look hip or modern they miss the mark completely and would be better off selling to a movie production company whose genre is sci-fi although I have a feeling that the scalloped edges would result in a no sale for them too.

There is no comparison to the detailed and quality stitching on today's leather GILI TSV and any fake pleather item of Susan's.

Susan is the QUEEN of pieced jackets with scallop detail. That really is my point. This G.I.L.I. TSV looks like her written all over it. Of course she does not make fitted anything (that I'm aware of) or use leather.

What's interesting is that I read your description of "scalloped edges" in the design and went back to look at it thinking I missed something.... I don't consider the edges "scalloped" at all but very small like the zig zag cutting of pinking shears. Scalloped edges are usually rounded and somewhat larger. Anyway, they are so small and detailed that I find it very attractive....

It was unfortunate because every busty gal who wore it did not look good in it in my opinion. Also didn't look particularly good on the larger models either.
The tiny, smaller busted gals looked fantastic~!

I'm sorry but I have to totally disagree... no comparison to the two jackets even though SG pieces her material and tries for higher end detailing. I bought one of her jackets and was so thoroughly disappointed in how it looked (up close, personal and on) that I sent it back. Even DH said he could see it was pleather a mile away. You can copy high end detailing and use faux leathers and no matter how much SG says it looks and feels real, It really doesn't.....

I was thinking the same thing. One of the hosts actually referred to those edges as being "pinked". I loved my mother's pinking shears when I was a kid. I don't know if the terms can be used interchangeably though.
