I do like that she's outfitted right to the hat, @ms traditional.  Love the fact that you give us this glimpse of her at her devotions.   I spotted nary a hat in church this a.m., including on myself!  ( I do look sort of goofy in hats, but would wear the right one-- I have a chocolate felt cloche with rosette on the side which makes an appearance in cold weather...

I wouldn't like a "tyranny of hats", but love it when people do go to the trouble.  And love the ideas of real hats (fedoras) for men... they lend such an air of distinction...

The Queen is always dressed impeccably but I'd be curious to see what she'd look like breaking out of the box ....of course, within reason.  Just a bit of a change

@vsm, I wish I knew!  Found it, but could not find info. on it.  Think it is a child actress, maybe vaudeville or screen circa 10's, 20's, or 30's?  It reminded me of my mother, who also had curly black hair...
