@jonbon that article is outstanding - so many great pictures and facts. I had no idea she collected and used ration stamps to purchase materials for her wedding gown.

I love that color! She has her own style and she's always dressed and accessorized perfectly. Why doesn't this woman make all the best dressed lists? When it comes to style, she nails it every time. As I approach 60, I have an appreciation for women who know what they like and know what works for them and don't care one iota about what's currently "in style". I'm old enough to remember when that's how ladies dressed for church every Sunday and for weddings. There a few women in my church who still do dress like that, older ladies who are from the Queen's generation.

i think she looks fabulous! her post included a letter written by Charles Babbage to Prince Albert - which would be of interest to watchers of "Victoria" on PBS

Hmmmm, Saint Patrick's Day is approaching and, of course, the traditional color worn is green. Free Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, wears the green.
Northern Ireland is mostly protestant and their color is orange, that part of Ireland has remained part of the British empire. Is the queen making a political statement by wearing orange?
We'll see if she wears green for St. Patrick's Day!
