Had Edward not abdicated, Thankfully he did. Wonderful knowing the Queen has her family staying with her at Sandringham. Long Live-Queen Elizabeth.

I saw pics of Queen taking the train ! down to Sandringham for the holiday and Philip was to be taken down later by car. Wonder why she took the train?

the Queen looks quite festive with her tweed and red velvet- and i love the Countess' hat --  very smart looking.  they seem quite close and i think they enjoy going to church together because they often do.

I just read today that Phillip is at another palace in the burbs.  The Queen visits him on the weekends and maybe once during the week.  Since he retired, he doesn't stay at the Palace.  Since she's still working, she needs to be there.

That's why he wasn't at that dinner a few months back.  I was like, "he can't come downstairs for 5 minutes and eat?"
