I'm guessing that QVC has enough of their own market data and know what colors sell, and some popular vendors have a particular color palette they like to work with.
BUT - YOU might be watching the wrong shows ... some vendors sell dark dingy colors and others use garishly bright colors ... check out some of the male designers.
Really? Then why are their so many returns? The return warehouse is ram packed and their are outlets selling the stuff that didn't go over too well.
I've been viewing the Q for 32 years when it started out as CVQ. Back then, they did listen, now and for more than several years they haven't listened. YOU don't have the stats on all the members, YOU don't know their buying history or what they like.
So harsh, Love Roses! I was just going to tell you that I have enjoyed the threads that you have started recently, and now this!

I agree - little harsh. And the Q hasn't been on for 32 years...more like 28 years, and it was CVN before that. But you were close. I know this because Mary Beth sold me a giant stuffed bear and a ceiling fan in 1987 when she was on CVN!
Loved that teddy bear until the neighbor's dog chewed his nose off.

Give me a break. The Q, or formally the Cvn have been on for that long as I was one of the first viewers back then. It was easy to call in and speak to the hosts. Yes, I remember Mary Beth selling those bears. Kathy Levine sold me on a few things too.
Didn't mean to come across as harsh to the posters - just not pleased with the color choices that are presented and sold as 'Spring Pastels', etc. I've all but stopped buying years ago but enjoy all the posters in the various forums - whether they are kidding, joking around, being trolls, or seeking opinions.

Sometimes we like colors because we just like them, not necessarily because we look good in them. If I wore only colors I liked all the time, I wouldn't be flattering my skin tone very much. When I wear colors that flatter ME, I get a lot of compliments. I like a lot of colors that look absolutely dreadful on me! I have learned not to wear these colors, near my face. I look ill if I do!
I think that as for QVC clothing colors, they determine what looks good on CAMERA and what shows up really well, which most of the time means jewel tones. Many women like them, I like some of them but it's nice to see something different sometimes.

I may search for the perfect shade of yellow for several seasons. Some are too orange, some have too much white and are too pale. Most people either have a lot of "mistakes", things they don't look pleasing in, or their choices revolve around one side of the color wheel.
Each closet tells a color story.
