Thanksgiving is over.....now Christmas! How are you spending it?

I love Thanksgiving, we spend it with family and friends and fill the house! The women all cook together and I love that part! It's a community bonding with women!

Christmas is also a big deal with the focus of family cooking and spending time together.

I make all my Christmas presents and we drive 6 hours for celebrating with my family and them the next day with my husbands family. This year we are also spending quality time together in Chicago for a few days!

So may you all have a great time with family and friends!

I will go to my daughter's around noon. We exchange gifts, eat & relax. Won't be in a hurry like on Thanksgiving to go shopping. Plan to get dessert this time, lol.

Our church is having a service this evening at the beach so we are going to that. Christmas at DH's cousin's house. Otherwise - no plans. I am getting permanent makeup done as my Christmas gift and I am excited about that - however, it will be done in Dec and will involve 2 weeks without makeup and it will be very dark during that time, so I am not planning to go out much then. So worthwhile to have eyebrows again.

I would love having permanent brows and eyeliner done. I went through chemo 7 years ago and the tail of my eyebrows thinned too much. So it is an art project everyday when I put my brows on.

Is it expensive?

Christmas Eve, we have a big dinner and we go to services at church and then we come home for cookies, egg nog and we each uwrap a present. Its family and close friends. Christmas day is informal and usually just our family. My husband prepares a big breakfast, we open presents, take pictures, call relatives. Its a jeans and sweaters day. We eat, relax, watch movies. I always make lasagna and we have lots of leftovers from Christmas Eve dinner.

After Christmas Eve dinner at a world famous resort, Christmas morning DS, DIN, and the little ones will come over after they have Santa. We'll have stollen and pasteries as we open gifts then grill and have a formal Christmas Day dinner. Dessert is usually homemade chocolate pound cake with homemade whipped cream, drizzled with kahlua and sprinkled with chocolate shavings.

We talked about heading to Orlando for a few days.

Got a nice offer from AMEX for buy 2/get a 3rd hotel nite free + some other perks to sweeten the offer.

However, I just got home, grabbed some hot coffee. 6 hr drive is hard on the tush so I'm not ready to think about Christmas just yet!!

Christmas Day will probably have dinner at home with DH and my snow bird brother. Christmas Roast Beast with popovers for the main meal. DH has already put in a request for apple pie for dessert. Time to get the tree and home decorations down from the attic over the garage. Christmas cards to mail out ASAP. Shopping to do for gifts. It will be a busy 3 weeks. Have fun everyone.
