I ordered a sweater and a tee from Loft last week. I usually have good luck ordering from Loft. I'm happy with the way both of them look and fit, but the tee reeks of perfume. I could hardly wait to get it off and into the laundry. The tags were still intact. I don't know if someone returned it, and Loft put tags back on it and resold it, or it just got that way from someone trying it on. That's never happened before. I just couldn't believe the strong perfume smell.

Sadly, people do buy and wear things (with the tags tucked in) with the intent of returning it. The better the store the more you see this as those stores tend to be more liberal with their return policies.

I just put it in the washing machine. Loft has a tag sewn in for freshness that you're supposed to cut out before washing it. The tag had been cut out. This really irritates me, but I wanted the tee and the store didn't have it. I would never return something after wearing it unless something was wrong with it.

I had this happen a while ago from a different company. I couldn’t imagine someone wearing it having that much perfume on!
I returned my item marking it as “defective”. I also added a rather scathing remark in the comment section. I got a full refund.
It happens. When it happens in a brick and mortar store, you can choose a different shirt or not buy. You don’t have that option ordering online.

I've read about that happening here ,on Q. I order a lot, and so far, touch wood, it hasn't happened to me
If I liked the garment, I would wash it, and that should take care of it

I can't believe you actually kept a stinky top. There's an ick factor in that for me, I'd have returned it. That wouldn't happen if a woman just tried it on; it seems like some woman did what my mother's friend would do. She was retired and on a fixed income and she loved nice clothes. She'd buy buy clothes and wear them once or twice and then return them. She would tuck or even pin the tags so they would not show. She would actually brag about it. She said she never wore any cologne or perfume so the stores were none the wiser.

I have never received an item like this before from anywhere. Normally I wouldn't have even considered keeping it, but it was half price and the store didn't have it in stock. I would have had to pay more plus shipping if I had reordered it.

I've had that happen from here at Qvc, only mine was cigarette smoke and strong body odor. I returned it adding to the comment line it was received that way. Not sure if the comment line ever does any good or not.

The item I received that smelled was a sweater. I loved it, so I did try washing and drying it, and even airing it out for a few days. It still smelled!
I have no idea what kind of perfume was on it, but I can’t imagine anyone willingly wearing that stink. I returned the sweater, and got a full refund.
