@Julie928 What an awful story! I would have had a hissy fit in the store if they didn't fork over the earrings! I haven't seen that breast cancer awareness line - I'll have to look specifically for it.
Well I hit up to T stores on Saturday. I got to the first one at 10:30 a.m. and got one of the last pairs of earrings left. It was one of their smaller stores and one not as busy so I figured I had the best chance at earrings there. I bought the "chic" tee shirt (the one with sequin sunglasses and eyelashes and something else on it) for $9.99 because it was $39.99 but I used one of the $20 off coupons I've printed out from the 'net so I got that and the earrings. I did try on the embroidered jeans in petite. Wow @gidgetgh those really are flattering on. They were very slimming and looked great. Didn't buy them but I can see how you fell in love with them. That very small piece of embroidery though on the back pocket is worthless. At first I didn't even notice it but it would only be seen if you wear something tucked into the jeans. Since I probably never would, anything I wear on top over the jeans would cover it up so I would rather they added that little flower somewhere on the front . That aside, they really are very cute and flattering and looked better in person IMO than on the 'net. The big flower embroidery on the front is a beautiful shade of deep red.
Too funny about the bling sweater @gidgetgh . I did practically fall off my chair when I read you bought it! I do plan to get it but at a better price and am hoping for your sake for a reduction. There are bound to be 40% off coupons coming up some time which would make the jeans reasonable.

@Pearlee- the bling sweater is still neatly wrapped in tissue paper and in the shopping bag. Just going to wait it out a little bit. It’s 90 degrees here. It’s not like I’m going to wear it anytime soon. And plenty of time to return it. I love the sweater and hope it all works out.

we no longer have a Talbots in our immediate area - so went aout 25 miles away and picked up the cute quilted jacket in cream, plaid scarf to go with and another "cat" shirt! I was there about 1 and no earring to be found! I love their quilted jackets, they are fitted and I buy one every fall - nice collection now!

Saturday I went to visit a friend from elementary and high school. I'd forgotten about the Talbots promotion until we came upon a Talbot outlet in a discount mall attached to a casino. There was nothing special going on at the outlet. There were racks jammed with clearance items. (that looked like they'd been around for multiple seasons/years) There was a rack of jeans with a big sale sign over them. They were marked down from $70-some to $69 and change. The material felt thick and heavy with a lot of stretch. Had I been offered my pick of a free item, I would have been hard pressed to find one.
Years ago I'd go to a Talbot outlet that was usually a season or two behind the regular store. The bargains were fantastic.

THere are the full priced Talbots stores. THen there are thenTalbots outlet stores. merchandise in these stores is not from a regular Talbots store but these items are made specifically for the outlet stores. THe best bargains are at the Talbots clearance centers. there are not a lot of these around. THat is where the left over clothes from the full regular Talbots end up. PRices are the best there but it is definitely a roll out f the dice as to whether you find something.

@PENNE- my answer will probably confuse you more than help, but I’ll try!
At Talbots, sometimes I wear a Large, sometimes an extra large. To be honest, the large truly fits me better 99% of the time, but I can’t stand a close fit. I like my clothes to be a little loose. That’s just my thing.
So....the large looked “fine” on me and probably was my correct size, but I just felt it was a little close. So I tried on the extra large and it was definitely too large...really baggy, especially in the arms.
So, I tried on the petite extra large and went with that. While I had it on, the sales associate saw me in it and commented that it was a little big on me. I didn’t think so and that’s the size I went with. Petite extra large.
So, it fits true to your normal size I think, but if you’re in between sizes, I wouldn’t size down. Just depends on how you like your fit.

Hey @PENNE -- that sweater is the Pearley Bling Sweater! LOL
I know what you mean about sizing, @gidgetgh . I usually have to go up to a large in T's sweaters although elsewhere I'm a medium. However, sometimes the medium works, depending on the sweater and sometimes the petite large is the better fit, as long as it isn't too short lengthwise on me.
One of the things I dislike about Talbots is how many sizes I have to try on. Medium, large, and petite large oftentimes. What a lot of work just to find the right size and even then, they usually don't fit as well as my regular size medium elsewhere. At least I'm burning off calories doing all that trying on (or at least that's what I tell myself at the time).

Thanks Gidgetgh! I know what you mean sometimes I've bought a petite when they did not have my size in stock. Thanks for your help. Enjoy that beautiful sweater!

Pearley, I totally agree! Never have that problem at other stores! One way or another I am getting it! Thanks!
