Susan Graver Sizing

[ Edited ]

I was watching the show tonight and they did a quick look at some straight leg pants.  I went to look at them and then clicked on the size chart.  First, it asked my height.  Well, I chose Regular rather than petite because I would be wearing them with heels, so it's really not relavent. Next it asked my WEIGHT.  What?  That's not relavent either.  Any two people can weigh the same and they'll wear different sizes due to their body composition.  Then, the next question was how old am I.  Forget it.  That's totally not even in the ballpark of relavent.

Is this only for Susan Graver, or has QVC changed all their size charts to be like this?  I have a hard enough time getting a good fit in clothing bought online without this ridiculousness.

I just went to take a look and the SG straight leg pants.   I still see the size chart for the garment.  Nothing about asking me those questions.

Maybe it's the browser that your on and the Q is doing some "experimenting"?

Are you referring to the "click here" measurements following the pant description? Those are the specific measurements for that garment.  Sounds like you are looking at the general size chart for QVC clothing.

I never even look at the size chart that asks your measurements.   Using the actual garment measurements is the most accurate way to get a good fit.

Measure something in your closet that fits well and look for similar measurements.

@Icegoddess, now I understand. You didn't hit the size chart, or the specific garment click here link. You hit the What's My Size option.

@Etoile308 Correct.  I thought that would take me to the size chart.  I still don't see how weight and age has anything to do with finding my size though.

Normally, the clothing measurements, which is different than the size chart, is found further down, and I did plan on looking at that too, but those questions really turned me off.

Actually that option is called True Fit.  I have used it many times and it works rather well.

Lands End and LL Bean also have it available.   Height weight and age very much factors into your size needed.   It's a nice option to have available.

Tru Fit is not working for me at all.  Qvc keeps telling me my true size is Large and everything arrives too big!  I'm having to return things that I would have kept had they fit, so I'm not going by that in the future.  I'm sticking with the actual garment measurements and they are sometimes kind of wonky, but its better than nothing.

i think that when the q added 4x and 5x, they pared down the other sizes by 1-2 inches. Maybe a cost cutting move to make the 4 and 5 the same price as other sizes. That same price for any size is still only at the Q from what i can tell. i applaud them for that idea.

I always look at the specific garment measurements before purchasing anything.  I ignore the Size Guide, it's useless for me.  Particularly for pants, I know what waist, hip, thigh, knee, calf and inseam measurements fit me the way I want a pant to fit.  I ignore whatever size the host or models are wearing because none of them have my figure type (pear-shaped) except for Susan Graver.  I don't care what their  height is or size they are all wearing because it is irrelevant to me.  The specific garment measurements are what matters to me.  BTW, I take a tape measure to Costco and measure the garment at the table before I buy it.  Saves on returns.
