Wide stripes bring to mind sports uniform/old-fashioned. I thought about it yesterday when I wore a wide striped shirt! Which I love by the way but there's always a retro lean to me

I love the outfit with either top.  I just don't love my legs enough to wear shorts that short.

I would love to wear it, perhaps with bermuda or walking shorts in the same color, instead.

I like the outfit; it appeals to the preppy in me!  The shorts would have to be a crop length for me though!!

The hat is actually closer to a fedora style—a traditional gondolier’s hat is flat on the top, and stripes are just stripes, so this did not bring that to mind at all for me.

@lolakimono   I think it is adorable.  It's for a younger woman with nice legs or a lucky older woman with great legs.
