I have always balked (and expressed it over and over on this board) at the notion that a bootcut evens ones figure out.  That's never been the case to my eye.  As a pear shape there was nothing flattering about a jean that hugged the thigh and knee and then went into the bootcut.  Straight leg jeans and pants have always been more flattering on my body type.

And for those who think they have to look at high-end jean manufacturers, that's not the case.  I bought a lot of straight leg jeans from Target under their Merona label.

I wear straight leg in the summer with flats and boot cut during the winter with, well, boots lol. None of my many different brands of boot cut jeans look anything like a flare or bell bottom.  They just have a little extra room to fit over ankle boots.

I wear skinny, boot cut and boyfriend jeans. Luckily a variety is always available and denim is always "in".
