Spinel

I have been looking at the black Spinel, and I've noticed something about them. I've noticed they appear like a bead that's been strung too tightly and kinked. I've noticed on the necklaces and also a bracelet they showed. It looks like there are kinks in it and it doesn't lay smoothly. I've also noticed the extreme difference in prices: saw a bracelet for $l9.95 and then LR's $700. or so Spinel. Haven't heard anyone saying this is faux or this is real Spinel.
