Re: So, who's wearing hearts tomorrow? (Or red, or pink....)

It is possible to observe both Ash Wednesday and Valentines Day.  I asked what you were wearing, not what you were eating, if you were going for ashes, if you were fasting...

@faeriemoon  That was my thought exactly when I read that post.

I am having so much fun in my V-Day outfit today.  Lots of comments/compliments and I've brought a smile to the face of quite a few people who commented on it.  Your thread is fun too.   Enjoy that blouse - it's very cute and eyecatching.

@ALRATIBA

Same for me.

I'm observing both.  Not sure why wearing red would mean you aren't observing Ash Wednesday?

@Lipstickdiva  Red is a festive color .... Ash Wednesday is not a festive day.  I'm wearing navy and black.  Looking around before Mass earlier today - I didn't notice anyone wearing red.

I wasn't aware there was a "rule" prohibiting wearing hearts or red on Ash Wednesday.  Not sure why you couldn't observe Ash Wednesday and wear something for Valentine's Day?

@Belle_Femme

No rule.  Just personal preference.

I wore a red coat to Mass this AM.  The thought never crossed my mind I should not.

I see everything at mass. It is up to each of us to decide what we want to wear. As long as people are clean and modest, nothing bothers me

Went out for a late breakfast and wore a pink Denim & Co set. Never gave it a thought. Not even sure what my table mate had on but it wasn't pink or red.

I love red!  But, I wore black yesterday, LOL.  I didn't put much thought into it, and I should have as I own a lot of red.

@faeriemoon,

Love the idea however I do not get the hype of V day, certainly it is a cultural issue for me🌻and a nice tradition in the US.
