I never received an item in poor condition or that looked worn.  I have, however, purchased things on wait list so I suspect they were returns.  I was hoping more people are like me:  I try it on and if I don't like it or it doesn't fit, I return it the next day.  I have never worn anything for a day or weeks.  Most of us can tell right away if we need to send something back but I think there are lots of people who buy something to wear to a specific event then return it.   Most of the department stores will not longer take back returns if the tags have been removed and they are now putting on special tags for that purpose.
