Heehee, you just thought you were getting fatter! That's cute, made me smile cause I think that sometimes too when trying on different clothes. I just tell myself it's not me....it's the clothes! haha

DH told me to stop shrinking his jeans. I told him his waist was getting larger? His is from drinking beer & whiskey not from what he eats.

I read some place online it said not to buy by size to buy by fit. Today I have to do that. I can buy 2 of the same shirt or pants but they don't fit the same.

Haha, that made me laugh, I blame the dryer sometimes too.

Yes, I definitely agree with buying by fit and not size. Some places have vanity sizes (QVC, HSN) and some don't and some who knows what they were thinking?!

Which makes it hard when buying online, so I do return a lot of clothes but I don't feel too bad about that because I believe that's the price companies pay for being in this online world and should expect a lot of returns. I know I'm not alone when shopping and trying on clothes, I''l go in with 20 items and maybe one will work but most of the time I leave with nothing....

My problem is my waist area. If I buy pants that fit my waist, my pants will just bag. So I get the pants to fit my hips and use a waist expander to add more room. I have now found my perfect answer. I bought the waist expanders off Amazon.

Pants are my nemesis.  I really need to try them on before buying and even then, I usually need to add alterations into the price, not just hemming, but also the waist, so that's 2 alterations.  While I CAN sew, I hate trying to do alterations on my own clothing since it's almost impossible to pin them on my self.

I used to be able to wear Kim Rogers petite or short pants, but then she cheapened them by removing the zipper.  I like a zipper on dress pants, but my comment about cheapened has to do with the fact that it's just cheaper to make pants without them.  I'm sure the line didn't lower the price when the did that either.

I recently happened on some pants at Belk that were ALMOST perfect.  First was the drapey fabric which I haven't found in pants in several years.  Next, it was available in a petite length which works with heels.  I almost always wear heels with dress pants.  They were a slim cut, something I cannot find at QVC or HSN that will work with my thick legs.  I don't want my dress pants hugging my legs or stretching to fit, but I'm too short for a wide leg pant.  The only problem with them is that the waist is slightly too large.  I can wear a belt with them, but I would rather not have to, so I may end up altering them.  Lucky for me, they were 40% off, so I only paid $47.70 for them.

They were available in both a straight leg and a boot cut.  I chose the boot cut and bought 2 pair.  They're The Limited brand.  I knew The Limited stores closed, but I didn't know they were being sold in Belk now.

These I recently purchased by Anybody and they fit perfectly. The waist has evidence of a yolk..don't know how it was accomplished but everything about this set speaks volumes to me of careful styling.

I am with you on needing a zipper in most woven styles. The area around the waist as large elastic does not flatter my proportions somehow.

I will think on it and post if I have purchased something that really fits.

In more tailored items, I will really need to locate a tailor here and in my area, it's difficult driving very far. The landscape in Pittsburgh is death defying when it comes to roads!
