I have read a lot of reviews about how off the sizing is on the Q thru the years. As someone who has changed sizes recently (and gone from plus to regular), I thought I would share my experience from that perspective.

Interestingly - when I was a plus size, I found the Q to be inline with other retailers and Dept stores (Land's End, Carsons, Macy's), and wondered what the fuss was about. Now that I am a non-plus size (an 18, but still a work in progress), I find some of the sizes on the Q are a bit more generous than other retailers.

I wear an XL on the Q, and generally wear and XL from most other stores, but the fit is definitely a bit more ...fitted. On the Q, I am a small 18, not quite a 16 yet. For other stores, definitely an 18.

I also find that D&C runs really big. Most of my D&C fashions are a L, whereas Liz and Isaac fashions are usually an XL. Susan Graver - a little bit of both, but then I think some of her items are more fitted than others.

I don't know if anyone will find this helpful or not.

I am 5'3", and am fairly well proportioned, curvy, maybe a little pear shaped.

I always, always, always check the "click here" measurements because everything is different -- even in the same brand.

Re: Sizing experience on the Q

There are a couple of brands that are cut too narrow for my wide shoulders - so I avoid those. Really no different from shopping at the store ... some brands aren't cut for my body type (long torso, straight shape, wide shoulders).

Otherwise - size charts work fine for me. I know my measurements and the amount of wearing ease I prefer.

Sizing is frustrating lots of places. I was stunned a few years back when I was told by the clerk at a very well-respected department store that I should try on every size 12 she had of a highly respected brand of jeans - ""they're all a little different"" At $110 and up!

I definitely notice that the plus sizes on QVC are larger than they are in other places I shop, both for tops and bottoms. QVC and HSN, both. I think they take vanity sizing to an extreme.

Absolutely. I check it whenever I order, on any site.

Re: Sizing experience on the Q

I am tired of paying return postage for items that run different sizes in the SAME BRAND and even the same item. In fact I finally figured it out, QVC has no control over their vendors' sizing. They force us to tell the rest of their customers how each item is running via the SIZE CHART. So the burden is off them and on us to figure it out. I will never order a pair of shoes again from QVC.

I buy cartigans here and order small. Often and have noticed that Dennis Basso adds a little extra ease to his while Issac's are right on with the stores.
