You are fashionable, modern & stylish as are the shrugs! They are a classic that gets updated just like others such as blazers, & very plentiful.

You won't be sporting a jacket when the temperature is well over 100 around here.  A light shrug is great for cooler places, then to wear into fall for chillly nights.

Scarves are a pain to wrangle, and anything with fringe is out for me.  Lots of different choices for folks.  No need to be labeling stuff dated and out for many of us.  It's just clothing.  Doesn't mean you haven't had a bath or anything.

Fran Drescher at the Oscars in an elegant bolero jacket. It's not a shrug but along the same idea/style. She looked beautiful and age appropriate. Class act!

That is a very nice shortened cut tuxedo blazer in a fabric

not a stretch sweater.  Long sleeve as well. I have 3 of those types from BCBG.

It's a classic called "lloyd" and shortens up like Fran's in the back.  This is an XS.  They run big but always have black and white available.  I was lucky to get this nude-pinkish color.

I totally agree about the scarves they are too much trouble to wrangle as you put it perfectly!
