I wear shorts but walking short length. Bermuda style. I have jean ones and other kinds as well. I would never wear short shorts but I am also 68 and even though I am in good shape and my legs are pretty good. I do not have 20 year old legs either and I do know that. Too old for short shorts and I do see some younger ladies that should not wear either in my opinion but they do.
I say it is really up to you what you find comfortable to wear or not. Good or bad decision to some. Is it just jean shorts or all shorts?
I do not limit my choices. Beach pants, capris, skimmers, skorts.

There is not an age limit for anything!
I'm old, probably a bit older than you, and wear shorts, jean shorts, crops or whatever I want.
I don't care what others think.

I knew one lady who was in her 60's and she wore short shorts. Cringe. She looked ridiculous.
I think older women look better in Bermuda-length shorts -- or around that length.
Were you traumatized? Why would you care what she looks like. If she's ok with it, the rest is none of your business.

I think we're past the era of the fashion police.
No we aren't We will never be.
This isn't the fashion police; it's the age police. It doesn't stop with fashion. They also want to tell you what makeup you should or shouldn't wear due to your age, and whether you should color your hair or wear it long or short, simply because of your age.
If people are lucky, they'll live as long as we have. I'm really tired of the age police. It's no one else's business.

Everyone is free to wear exactly what they want, but dressing to flatter what you look like while accenting the positives and minimizing the negatives serves us well. Whether anyone likes it or not, everyone doesn't look good in everything and it's a bit unrealistic to think otherwise or to think that others aren't going to see what's right in front of them.
I wear what is comfortable. How I look makes no difference to me. And it shouldn't to anyone else.

OMG---this post really made me laugh---I have seen some gawd awful fashion faux pas and have often thought that, what was put forth for all to see, should be outlawed--but all in jest, of course!! But some could have burned your eyes if you stare too long!!!

I am 71 and workout about 2 hours daily and get so many compliments on the well-fitted jean shorts I wear every day that are 4 to 6" in length. Anything else is uncomfortable. My choice and even if I was not well-toned - whose business is it anyway!! What anyone wears should not be age based anyway!!! I want comfort and not age approval!!!

My shorts are 4" to 5". (I've got good thighs) I did get the Belle 5" shorts that was offered. I liked them! First time I got shorts from her. I hate Bermudas. I'm petite and they hang to my knees. They belong on men. They might as well be skimmers or what they're call now. They bother my knees. Best shorts I got were from Frame. Love, love them. They're 5" and very comfortable. I wear skorts too, but not as much as shorts.

To each his own, I guess. There are no rules anymore.
