Shopaholics One Day at a Time - Tuesday, December 12th

Good Afternoon!  Our weather is pretty nice -- cool in the mornings (40's - low 50's), but it should make it to the 70's for the next several days   I certainly prefer this weather to cold/icy weather others are having.

The appetizer party yesterday evening was very nice -- way too much food.  I adapted a recipe Jean shared on Facebook (they used brie, cranberry sauce, pecans, and rosemary in crescent roll dough, but I substituted boursin and walnuts).  Very tasty, and not difficult.

The senior lunch program went well today, and I leave for the gym soon.

Not much exciting to report.  I am on a budget plan for electricity, and I found I will be paying an extra $16 a month now (compared to last year).  I think I indulged more with AC when we had our hot, hot summer.  But, I have decided this is an expense that is worth it to me, so long as I can afford it.

Have a nice evening everyone, and please post if you have time.

Hugs,

Linda

Good afternoon ladies, hope all is well.

Linda-  Thank you for starting us today.  Glad to hear the party went well. Your  appetizer sounds very good.  Have a good time at the gym, you should be very proud of yourself on how dedicated you are about going.   I think it is worth the extra money if you are more comfortable in the warmer weather.

Nothing  much going on here, I finished wrapping all the Christmas gifts.   We really just buy gifts for the two granddaughters and the two neices.  We also buy a few for each other.    Both sides now do not buy for each other, we all just buy what we want all year so by Christmas there is nothing we want or need.

Well need to get things going for supper.  Hope everyone has a great evening.

Linda--Thank you for starting the thread. I'm glad the recipe I shared worked well for yoiu as adapted. I thought it sounded very good and easy to make. I'm sorry that your electric bill has taken a jump on the budget plan but as you said your comfort is worth the increase. So far, I'm lucky not to see an increase in my budget plan.

Susan--Good job on getting the presents wrapped. Our family quit exchanging gifts for the very reason you gave. As adults, we have what we need so the focus in on any children or those token giffts for those who provide a service

I worked today and unfortunately it was not a good weather day. It sleeted and then snowed starting around Noon. I had fun cleaning the ice and snow from all the windows on the car. The ice was thick from the sleet.  It just reinforced my idea that Winter is no fun. Linda, I wouldl love to have your weather!

Wowwie - I'm really behind today.  We got enough snow for me to shovel last night.  I'm expecting more tomorrow, Friday and Sunday - hopefully I will have a white Christmas :-)

There are many elements: wind, fire, water
But none quite like the element of surprise
