Good Morning and Happy New Year's Eve day! DH has physical therapy this morning, but not until 11:00, so I decided to post before then It is cool again this morning, but should make it up into the low 60's and be mostly sunny, which is certainly better than many places. DD said it has been cloudy so long and she is really missing the sun. Guess that is just part of winter in most places.
I know some of you have already taken down your Christmas decorations, but I haven't done so yet. I may start this afternoon or just wait until tomorrow. I am planning to go to the gym after DH's appointment.
Patting myself on the back for going through my closet a bit yesterday. Just because something fits, it doesn't make sense to crowd the closet with things I don't wear.
The appointment with the hospice place went well, and I'm pretty sure DH will be one of their clients. I liked the representative much better than the lady from the other hospice, and she is a dynamo in terms of getting things set up -- called the doctor and had records sent over right when I was there. DH cannot start until after his last physical therapy session next Tuesday, but a hospice nurse will be coming on Wednesday morning for the initial visit, etc.
DH was fine when I picked him up from the club, and he had won the big Bingo prize (a teddy bear), which he gave to me.
I know Jean is off to the neurologist today -- hope that goes well. Glad the recipe Arlene provided for mac and cheese is just what you wanted, Rosa. Interesting discussion about the pilot light, Bernie -- I know Arlene lives in TN. I'm old enough to have had gas stoves that you needed to light (ovens and sometimes even individual burners), but I do have a healthy respect for pilot lights, etc. I think the gas company is very responsive to calls about possible gas leaks, etc.
Waves to Jean, Kathleen, Arlene, twinny, Susan, Bernie, Marijane, LindaR, Charlene, Rosa, Barbara, snicks, spix, pinky ann, Karen, Gayle, and all of our posters and readers.
Have a nice day and please let us know what is happening with you if you have a chance.
Hugs,
Linda

Linda, like minds :-) We posted at the same time and I am copying what I wrote on the other thread over here:
Good Morning Shopping Friends,
As we prepare to say farewell to 2015 and welcome 2016, I sit here, grateful for the year that has passed.
I've met more wonderful forum friends, such as yourselves this past year.
My family has grown with the addition of Fiona Rose, my youngest great niece, who was born at the end of August.
There have been some challenges as work, yet I am still employed and so far not impacted by the corporate re-org that is underway.
Aside from my small human family that is still hanging on with me :-), my beloved Poppi, my eldest sparrow is with me yet one more New Years Eve. I love my birds so much I swear I get chest pains from it.
I've tried to view each unexpected change and each challenge (code for things not going my way or things going off the rails) as a learning opportunity.
I have a dear friend from work that was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer in September. While a cure seems unlikely, she has far more good days than bad and for that I am so grateful. I was able to see her in November and we speak frequently. Each conversation we have is etched in my mind. I grieved for her privately after her diagnosis which in a way freed me and when she and I talk for hours, her cancer is not the subject matter. I can't describe it.
My wish for every reader of this thread is that you have a happy new year that brings good health/improved health or maintaining the health you have if that's what you need. I wish you prosperity, laughter and more good days than bad ones.

Good morning!
I am working today , also very thankful for my job even when it drives me crazy. I had to get a new job at 57, not easy.
I have have a very full this much better than I ever dreamed possible after the loss of my DH.
Mark and I are going to have a quiet evening at my home. He is going to get filets to grill.
Linda Latte, I will continue to lift you in prayer, you are a wonderful example of living your wedding vows,
Birdmamma...I am thankful that your birds bring you so much joy and love ..we all need that in our life.
This morning we had a "rush" of phone calls...many vehicle trades. Now it has died down which is fine with me. I am the only one in the office today.
I hope that everyone is well.

Okay, my original post today was thoughtful and reflective. Now I can post like a 5 year old again.
My leather and stainless steel necklace from HSN was delivered this morning. I didn't know my mailman worked my neighborhood this early. He probably wants to get home early for NYE.
Holy Mackeral! It's better in person that in the photograph.
Right now the stainless steel is so cold I have to let it warm up before trying it on.
It's a beaut for sure. And they sent me a $10 off coupon that's good until the end of January.

Bernie, Love the necklace, wear it in good health.

Bernie: what a beautiful necklace.
Ladies: I want to join in and wish everyone a Happy New Year. I love all the ladies in our little group. We laugh together, come together in times of difficulty with love and prayers. We all have bumps in our journey. I am honored to count you all as friends. I have had the honor of meeting several in person!. Kathleen and I try to meet infrequently as she travel about--always a good time.
LindaL: What a sweet gift of the teddy bear!. Hugs to you dear lady.
Rosa:; What a lovely gift from Mark---I know your journey hasn;t been without bumps in the road.
The sun is finally shining today---but it will be a quick visit as we are expecting more cold and wet. I feel so for the people who are experiencing the flooding. I don't think any of our group are affected but certainly family and friends may be.
I went into Hobby Lobby yesterday to look around. They had a large wreath marked $600. Even at 80 per cent off it was still over $100 I saw a lady with her phone--maybe taking a picture. I am thinking---wowser. You would have to have a huge space and that much $$. I circled back around. It was still there---perhaps she reconsidered.

Happy New YearLadies.....wishing everyone a great 2016!
Bernie that necklace is very pretty...wear it in good health.
Rosa I had a tear in my eye yesterday when you posted about the necklace Mark gave you for Christmas and what he said. Have a great dinner tonight! How is your DIL doing?
LindaR...wow $600 originally for a wreath...that must have been a beauty, wonder if it will sell. We haven't seen the sun in quiet a few days...but it has been warm and only one little snow storm so I'll take the no sun and no snow too!
LindaL you and your DH are always in my prayers....I know it is not easy for you. What will they do at hospic for your DH....is it an everyday thing? I do not know much about it., except that I hear they are great people.
Snicks it's a pleasure to meet you also....how's the road work coming along ?
Not much else here, I will keep my decos up till Jan 6th.....can't believe how well my tree is holding up. We got a good one this year!

Hello friends! Hugs to all of you. Linda thank you for starting us. I'm glad this hospice experience is better than the last. Bernie, love the necklace and understand your bird love. My puppy is kinda my life these days. Rosa, I read your post this morning about the necklace and it made me cry. So sweet. Sweet Mark. He def won my heart.
I'm ready for this year to be over. DH is still looking for the job where he can stay forever. Lord knows I understand not fitting in, not being comfortable, not being appreciated. Each time I think it's time I start looking, he comes home and reminds me he needs to find a job. Today again.
Happy news older DD is coming home in the spring, back to Austin. She posted in our little private group that she missed me and cried today. I thought that was very sweet. I've tried to not share with my girls how much I miss them. Tuesday I went with little DD's best friend from college to the Natural Science museum and we had a good time together. It was fun to spend some time with her.
Let's see - I've been sleeping really good, crashed about 8:20 couldn't keep my eyes open then was wide awake at 4:30. lol I bought finger foods - pepperoni salami and ham and crackers for tonight. That is what we had Christmas Eve and it was a hit. No special plans but will hit the movie tomorrow. Sleep, food, oh - weather is chilly. We still use the burner to heat the rv, because the furnace "uses more". It is sufficient. I wear my onesie at night around the rv. Brought a down blanket from home and that adds just enought warmth to our bed that it is cozy. I can't imagine needing more but time will tell.
